Is Your Diet Lacking Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is a vitamin that is fat-soluble and found in very few foods. Many people lack vitamin D in their diets. Since it is found in only a few foods, it is added to many. Vitamin D is produced endogenously through the sun’s rays as they strike your skin. It triggers a vitamin D synthesis. It is obtained through exposure to the sun, through the foods that you eat and through the intake of a vitamin D supplement.

A deficiency in vitamin D is now a global and public health problem that affects around 1 billion people around the world. Vitamins are essential nutrients that your body needs. That is because either your body does not make enough of them or your body can’t make them at all. They can be acquired through your diet or through supplements. Many individuals use supplements, because it makes it easier to track whether they are getting the right amount of the various nutrients and vitamins that they need to lead a healthy life.

But carrots don’t stand alone as a great source of Vitamin A: cheese, egg yolk, and milk are just a few more examples.
